TOES’ 2011 WEEK 15 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
FRIDAY- Harlingen’s dream season came to an end against San Antonio Madison. Its was a great story and as much as I have bashed “valley” football in the past they made a fan of me this year. Their Crowds and support were outstanding and represent how I think High School Football in Texas should be represented!! I hope a Valley team make it state every year (just not at the expense of a Houston team)
The Woodlands season came to an end vs a very talented Dallas Skyline team. The Woodlands gave up a 10 point 4th quarter lead. A Woodlands vs Southlake Carroll game would have been great, (as will a Southlake Skyline game would be) but I was hoping for that game. Here are the highlights of that game
ONE OF THE BIGGEST “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING” MOMENTS IN FOOTBALL, I have no idea what he was thinking. Never took a knee, never handed the ball to the ref. Then probably the dumbest things of all he seems to be arguing with the ref, the coach. Man when you do something as horrible as this you run and hide!! This ended up being the winning score in the 28-21 score of the Northern Iowa Wofford 2nd round playoff game
Dekaney continued their impressive run in the playoffs beating 13-5A rival Westfield. Dekaney is now the lone 13-5A team in the state. By Playoff runs you would have to consider 13-5A the best 5A district in Texas

ARMY vs NAVY MIDSHIPMEN
Saturday Dec 10rd 2:30p.m.
If there is a game that deserves its own weekend in the college football world its this one. Army vs Navy, I could try to explain the importance or significance of this game but the Showtime Documentary GAME OF HONOR is amazing and tells the story how it should be told. Watch the preview/making of GAME OF HONOR video I posted below then tune into the actual documentary on the showtime cable channel
The Opening and Making of GAME OF HONOR ARMY vs NAVY (a must see its a amazing documentary) you can see it on SHOWTIME or SHOWTIME ONDEMAND

GAME OF THE WEEK
(14-0) SOUTHLAKE CARROLL DRAGONS vs (14-0) DALLAS SKYLINE RAIDERS
SATURDAY DEC. 10th 2011 4pm SMU FORD STADIUM
Its been since 1988 since a Dallas ISD school has made it to the state final. That School was Dallas Carter (the friday night lights team) Skyline hopes to end that drought against Southlake Carroll. The thing about these inner city schools to me is that they always seem to shoot themselves in the foot and make catastrophic mistakes. Skyline almost did that last week against The Woodlands with some costly penalties and spotting a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. Skyline came back to win and now they get a game against Southlake. Skyline has the most talent in the state when it comes to D1 college players, as any school with over 4,600 kids should. Southlake and their 2,600 enrollment makes the most of what it has great coaching great hardworking athletes should be a great close game extremely similar to the Skyline The Woodlands game last week. Either team can win, maybe the last team with the ball down to the wire.

NFL GAME OF THE WEEK
DALLAS COWBOYS vs NEW YORK GIANTS
SUNDAY DEC. 11th 7pm Cowboys Stadium
This game in most likelihood a playoff elimination game as for whoever loses this one is gonna need some help to get in. Dallas lost a heartbreaker to Arizona. As inconsistent as Dallas has played, New York has even been worse give me Dallas in this one. Also of note one thing I hate is excessive and repetitive crowd shots of people. Namely famous people (actors/actresses and player parents/girlfriends) but the one thing I cant see enough of is when Dallas is losing and they show owner Jerry Jones and his son in that owner box squirming with that lost look on their faces

TOES’ 2011 WEEK 14 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
Texas High School Football at its best, AS I TYPE THIS MONDAY. 6pm there are people camping out to get Tickets for Harlingen’s 4th round Game Friday vs San Antonio Madison in Kingsville, now thats Texas High School football is all about and why people from other states just dont get it!! CHECK OUT THE LINE TWO DAYS BEFORE TICKETS GO ON SALE!!
I have always knocked the Rio Grande Valley schools when it comes to the playoffs and being on the same level as the traditional powers but Harlingen has looked the part this year with their non district wins (Abilene, Austin Westlake, and their run through the playoffs) here is their highlights off of San Antonio Warren, They caused Sam Houston State commit Rex Dawson to throw 6 interceptions!! and returned 4 for touchdowns!!! check it out
THE BIG LA MARQUE vs OZEN BRAWL, I cant find any kind of video of this at all, If anybody knows of some send me the link or something!!! It looks like it was a pretty wild one judging from the pictures!!
Some people asked me the other day about Concordia Lutheran Crusaders the Private School in Tomball Texas, They made it to their so called “state” title game vs Midland Christian, To me the Private School Football is a joke especially in Houston, They do have some good QB’s here and there but for the large part I say 90% of these players on the teams (Concordia Specifically) are Public School rejects. I’m saying this just from my experience in viewing Concordia and Tomball football games. One player stick out in my mind, from my days at Tomball, he wasn’t gonna touch the field as a Tomball Cougar, I mean literally would not of touched the field even in blowout victories, so he transfers to Concordia and makes all-state for private schools! What a joke!!!! But anyways if your into the Private Schools they play their state finals this weekend. Concordia vs Midland Christian in Kileen, but if your gonna drive all the way out to Kileen you might of well go to Waco instead on Saturday, Where The Woodlands and Dallas Skyline play thats gonna be a game! There will be around 15 Division 1 football players on the field.
This is THE GREATEST TOUCHDOWN CELEBRATION EVER!!! Stevie Johnson gets Plaxico Burress with the shooting himself in the leg, THEN, he ge gets Santonio Holmes with the Jet crash and burn LOL !!!!
THE WOODLANDS continued their great run through the playoffs he is thehighlights vs Mesquite with a 24-6 victory
CATCH OF THE YEAR RIGHT HERE!!!
You would be hard pressed to find anyone in Texas having a better show in the playoffs than Dekaney RB and Texas A&M Commit Trey Williams, he is turning it up a notch in the playoffs look at these highlight runs in a BIG upset over Longview (my state finalist pick) Dekaney plays Westfield in the regional final on Saturday in Humble

Aledo Bearcats (11-2) vs. Stephenville Yellow Jackets (11-2),
Dec 3rd 3 p.m. Saturday, Midlothian
This game is a rematch from a non district contest from earlier in the year and what a game it was. (check the video below) The Winner of this game has to be the huge favorite to win the State Title. Aledo Jonathan Gray (Texas Commit) vs Stephenville and Aiavion Edwards (Baylor Commit) offense is gonna be the name of this game just like the 1st game. Which Defense can make 1 or 2 stops takes this one. I picked Aledo in my preseason picks so I got to ride with them.

5A GAME OF THE WEEK
(12-1) ARLINGTON MARTIN vs (13-0) SOUTHLAKE CARROLL DRAGONS
SATURDAY DEC. 3rd 2011 6pm SMU FORD STADIUM
Southlake Carroll has been looking like the Carroll teams from the 2000′s Junior QB Kenny Hill has been doing it with his arm and his feet. Arlington Martin played Giant Killer and beat Euless Trinity last week. Putting up a strong performance against Trinity’s ground game. This Week they take on Carroll’s air attack. The weather might play a role in this one as its a evening game on Saturday and it could be quite windy and pretty chilly for this one. But it has been like that the last two rounds, and Southlake is still alive. Arlington Martin has too much Division 1 talent on both sides of the ball, I got to go with them. Although I’m pulling for southlake
Southlake Carroll (13-0) vs. Arlington Martin (12-1), 6 p.m. Saturday, Dallas’ Ford Stadium

(13-0) LAKE TRAVIS CAVALIERS vs (11-2) CEDAR PARK TIMBERWOLVES
SATURDAY DEC. 3rd 2011 Royal-Memorial Stadium University of Texas
Lake Travis has been destroying teams so far in the playoffs, Cedar Park their district rivals have been the only ones to play them close in recent years and I expect this game to be the same way. But Lake Travis and their drive for 5 holds strong and the pull this one out

Two Tradional Powerhouses, Two Texas Gunslingers at QB going head to head both Division 1 college commits, When you think Texas High School Football this is what you think about! PRETTY GOOD FOOTBALL WEEKEND IN HOUSTON COMING UP,
I’ll be at these 3 places
FRIDAY 7pm Katy vs Cy Woods @ Berry Center Cypress
SAT. morning ESPN COLLEGE GAMEDAY @ University of Houston
SAT. afternoon 4pm Klein Oak vs Austin Westlake @ Klein H.S.
FRIDAY- Went to The Woodlands vs Klein Collins playoff game in Humble. The game didnt surprise it was the game to see in the Houston area. The Woodlands Blake Webb an Oklahoma State Commit had a night to remember reeling in 3 long TD’ passes. Klein Collins Shane Rhoades also had an impressive night in the loss, but here are the highlights from that one
SATURDAY- now I know I mock praying at football games pretty much every time one happens but this one is good stuff and it did have a purpose. I can’t say anything that hasnt been said about Penn States situation but here is some good video of that prayer before the game saturday
SPEAKING OF PRAYER, I am still praying for the day that I find myself in one of these situations, a mob scene with a purpose, and heart, sudden rage and thoughtless actions with no fear of repercussions. I would shine in situations like this!! and be right there leading the way!! I admit its kinda dumb to do but I think its therapeutic for the Penn State people. Its good to let out aggression!! (I also think the should have let Paterno stay till the end of the year!! But here is the highlights of the rioting/mob scene
SATURDAY- WHEN Arkansas Joe Adam’s had this crazy punt return it reminded me instantly of the Desean Hales run for Klein Oak against Klein Forest in 2007 check it out they are almost carbon copies of each other!!!
SUNDAY PATRIOTS vs JETS Deion Branch Touchdown Celebration with the Fireman ED Jets fan impersonation this was funny as hell to me because I got it. But Im sure most people didnt get it so here is the impersonation and the Ed’s real celebration

Saturday Nov. 19th 2pm Dallas Cowboys Stadium
Allen RB Jonathan Williams (Arkansas Commit), QB Alec Morris (Alabama Commit)
If someone who has never been to a football game or much less a Texas High School football game asked me to pick 1 game to go to?? My answer would be…… Allen Eagles vs Euless Trinity. Just plug those two teams in and its gonna be a good one. Then you throw in all the extras that make it even more special, Euless Trinity’s Pregame Haka, The Cultural diversity at Euless Trinity, Allen 500+ member band (largest in United States) 2nd round of the playoffs, 40,000+ people in the stands, Cowboys Stadium, Alabama Commit Alec Morris Allen QB, Arkansas Commit Allen RB Jonathan Williams. Oklahoma Commit and Euless Trinity DE Polo Manukainiu, UCLA Commit and Trinity Commit Hiva Lutui. The list goes on. Allen I picked to win state at the beginning of the year (I wasn’t the only one) but I haven’t seen anything to make me change,
HERE IS WHAT THE CROWD LOOKED LIKED FOR LAST YEARS GAME BETWEEN ALLEN & EULESS TRINITY I EXPECT IT TO BE EVEN BIGGER THIS YEAR

5A GAME OF THE WEEK
KLEIN OAK PANTHERS (9-1) vs AUSTIN WESTLAKE CHAPPARALS (8-2)
SATURDAY NOV. 19 2011 4pm Klein Memorial Stadium (Klein High School)
Klein Oak ATH Nicky Baratti (Notre Dame Commit) RB Larenzo Stewart soph. Westlake RB Brice Dolezal, LB Lance Duran
Austin Westlake makes the trip to Klein. Westlake is a team from Austin that I compare to Katy, all the tradition and yearly playoff success, multiple state championships, Then like The Woodlands from Houston they are the labeled the “rich kid school” Years past the playoff regions have put them against San Antonio and Rio Grande Valley schools through the 1st 4 rounds in the playoffs. But with the new region alignment they have to go east towards Houston. Which I say plays better football than southwest texas and it will show in this one. Klein Oak had juggled with their lineup all season long with injuries/suspensions/position changes. Nicky Baratti a Notre Dame commit will be all over the field RB, TE, WR, QB you name it he can play it. On Defense Klein Oak has all-state and Arizona commit AJ Hillard. Westlake will give the ball to Brice Dolezal and hit the play action passes. QB Louis Guilbeau has two years experience and Blake Box has come in performed well so far. As far injuries for Westlake go I haven’t found anything. But this is Houston High School Football vs Austin High School football so I got to go with the Houston side in this one

11-0 LAKE TRAVIS CAVALIERS vs 10-1 SMITHSON VALLEY RANGERS
FRIDAY Nov 18th 7pm Alamodome (San Antonio)
LAKE TRAVIS QB Blake Mayfield (jr), ATH Colin Lagasse (SMU Commit) Smithson Valley RB Lawrence Mattison (jr.), QB Parker McKenzie
Lake Travis my preseason state title pick is going for their 5th straight state title in a row. With all the injury problems the have had this season, and the way they have been steamrolling teams this year. They are seeming to been a virtual lock. This week figures to be one of their toughest test, this Smithson Valley team is very similar to the Katy Tigers. Strong D powerful run game, play action passes. Smithson Valley doesn’t turn the ball over, plays ball control offense. I think this will be the closest game in the playoffs maybe even a possible upset special but I’m going Lake Travis

My 3A State title pick Argyle sees a rematch from earlier in the season. Prosper ended Argyle’s home win streak since they installed field turf on their field way back in 2009. Prosper did it with the Hunter boys who are the sons of Major League Baseball player Tori Hunter. Argyle has a good program and good coaching and a division 1 QB in Austin Aune a TCU Commit. Im going with Argyle in this one but don’t feel good about it.

TOES’ 2011 WEEK 11 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
WELL ITS PLAYOFF TIME FOR TEXAS HIGH SCHOOLS, and its stories like this its all about. Whitesboro a 3A school up north of dallas near the Oklahoma border for the 1st time in its 100 year history has qualified for the Texas High School Football playoffs. They needed to win their final game of the season against a traditionally good Pilot Point program here is the video on that one
TOMBALL once again had some golden opportunities to capitalize on Klein Forest. Texas A&M commit Matt Davis had a serious staph infection on his left pectorial area and didnt play. Their best WR didnt play. Turnovers were the thing that killed them in this one. But the thing I really didnt like was the halftime show. I didnt like the fact that the new High School that split from Tomball, Tomball Memorial was there as well. Tomball Memorial’s band and drill team and choir all the other halftime people were there.Tomball Memorial shouldn’t of been there if they wanted to be a part of the tradition and and the other stuff that happens at Tomball they should of voted that new school down, and kept Tomball a one high school district. To me it just shows what could have been. Those two schools should have been split. To see that crowd and then know that Tomball Memorial school who probably had a couple of sophomores that would have been contributing on that Tomball varsity squad. (also on the sub varsity level which were all terrible the freshman did decent though against schools with twice the players on their teams) It just pretty upsetting to think of how this year could have been different. It wouldn’t of taken much looking at Tomball’s loses to maybe change a game or two and keep them in the playoff chase till the end or maybe even sneek in.

#7 OREGON DUCKS (+3) @ #4 STANFORD CARDINAL (-3)
Saturday Nov. 12th 2011, 7pm TV: ABC
STANFORD QB ANDREW LUCK (Stratford High School) OREGON QB DARRON THOMAS (Aldine High School)
HERE A STORY FROM ANDREW’S HIGH SCHOOL DAYS IN HOUSTON AT STRATFORD HIGH SCHOOL
Houston Area High School Football will be on display as Stanford Cardinal and Stratford High School QB Andrew Luck will go up against Oregon and Aldine High School QB Darron Thomas. Oregon was my preseason National Championship pick. I thought Stanford would be hurt by the coaching change but so far they havent missed a beat. Stanford is the home team in this game, Another slight edge for Stanford. At the beginning of the season I would of said this game is Oregon’s but after watching Andrew Luck so far this year who I believe is the front runner for the heisman I got to go with Stanford in this one
TOES PICK: STANFORD: 35 OREGON: 31
TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFFS 1st ROUND
5A GAME OF THE WEEK
THE WOODLANDS HIGHLANDERS (9-1) vs KLEIN COLLINS TIGERS (8-2)
FRIDAY. Nov 11th 7pm Turner Stadium, Humble Texas
The Woodlands #93 DE/DT Mitchell Myers (Iowa St Commit) WR Blake Webb (Oklahoma State Commit) Klein Collins QB Tyler Stehling (Rice Commit) WR Shane Rhoades (Boise St Commit)
Two teams who have had past troubles getting past the 1st two rounds of the playoffs in the past few seasons. The Woodlands have done their usual run through the regular season only losing to Lufkin. Klein Collins was expected to do the same but suffered a couple of setbacks along the way. If I had to say the difference in this game will be the line play. Klein Collins line hasnt been what it has been in recent years. I think that will be the difference in this game I like both side of The Woodlands line so give me The Woodlands by 10 in this one

4A GAME OF THE WEEK
ROSENBERG TERRY RANGERS (9-1) vs LA MARQUE COUGARS (8-2)
FRIDAY Nov 11th 7pm Alvin Memorial Stadium, Alvin Texas
Rosenberg Terry WR Derrick Griffin 6’7 jr. La Marque QB Emmanuel Williams, RB Tim Wright (injured)
This game is a rematch of opening week which saw Terry edge out 2010 State Finalist La Marque after La Marque scored a late TD but failed on the 2 point coversion to take the lead. La Marque who has 3A enrollment numbers but is playing in 4A. So needless to say La Marque is hurting for depth, then throw on top of it all the injuries they have suffered, then the players who the injuries occurred to All-State RB Tim Wright suffered what I think is a shoulder injury Oct 22nd against Galveston Ball and hasn’t played since. It doesnt sound as if he will either. All-State Linebacker Jackson, their best player on defense suffered a knee injury and is out for the year. Those are the two main injuries amongst others. Derrick Griffin the 6’7 WR has put up better numbers as the season went on and will probably be the most recruited player out of Houston next year. So with the game they played in week one when La Marque was full strength and what has happened since I got to go Terry Rangers in this one

3A GAME OF THE WEEK
SANGER INDIANS (9-1) vs CELINA BOBCATS (9-0)
Friday Nov. 11th 7:30pm Denton’s Bronco Stadium, Denton Texas
Sanger QB Dane Evans (Tulsa Commit) WR Jon Garza, Celina RB Jammarick Simmons, DB Zack Bilderback
This is one of those game you would expect to be in the 3rd or 4th round. But these two meet in the 1st round. Sanger is led by Tulsa commit QB Dane Evans, I seen him play the last couple of years at the state 7on7 tournament he has got a big time arm. Celina as you would expect them come in tradtional form power running solid defense. Celina is the traditional power house. Their strength is their line eventhough their best lineman Jordan Roos a Purdue Commit was lost earlier in the season to a torn ACL, Celina does have a couple of juniors who already hold several D1 college offers. I’ll go with Celina in this one. But I really see this one being a toss up

PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS
RUNNING A LIL BEHIND THIS WEEK, (WILL GET EVERYTHING UPDATED THURS AND FRIDAY
TOMBALL had some golden opportunities to capitalize on Klein mistakes and get a WIN but like the season has been going they just coming up short. But Saturday’s game was pretty exciting so check out the highlights.
OVERALL GAME OF THE WEEK (regardless of level College, NFL, High School)
#1 LSU TIGERS @ #2 ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE
Saturday Nov. 5th 2011, 7pm TV: ESPN
As far as betting on this game, I always says its hard to bet against Texas High School Quarterbacks
But I am thinking that this is one of those situations. Jarrett Lee out of Brenham High School. Leads LSU against Alabama. I just cant get all those picks he threw in high school and freshman year at LSU out of my mind. Give me Alabama
TOES PICK: LSU: 14 ALABAMA: 28
HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK
DESOTO EAGLES vs LONGVIEW LOBOS
THURS. Nov 3rd 7pm TV: FOX SPORTS SOUTHWEST (Houston channel 37 comcast)
This doesnt have any play on the playoff matchups but you wont find a game with as many college athletes as this one lot of points in this one.
TOES PICK:
DESOTO: 47
LONGVIEW: 44
TOMBALL COUGARS vs KLEIN FOREST
FRIDAY, NOV. 4th 2011 7pm Cougar Stadium
TOMBALL QB Justin Dvorak, OT Connor Patterson (Rice Commit) Klein Forest QB Matt Davis (Texas A&M Commit)
These Two are playing for pride this week Tomball is out of playoff contention and Klein Forest, I cant see a tie breaker that they win so they are out of it as well. Tomball comes in off a heart breaking loss. Klein Forest off a beating from Klein Collins. Both also suffered some big injuries last week that will hurt. Tomball DT A.J. Mathews got rolled up on and injured a ankle or maybe even a knee. I dunno I havent spoken with anybody since the game. Klein Forest QB Matt Davis has been slowed by an ankle injury the last two weeks has lost their big WR #8 Markel Steward-Gillespie (if thats how you spell his name) was taken off on a stretcher last week. He most likely wont play(now im hearing he will my guess would be in goaline fade situations). After watching Klein Forest play a couple of times. I always kept saying this was going to be A.J. Mathews game to go off on. Klein Forest who I thought have the weakest guards and center combo and their best lineman who played OT failed so he is out as well. A.J. Who been getting double and triple teamed all year long. I think he would of made plays all night long even if he was triple teamed by Klein Forest.
TOES PICK: (flip the score if AJ doesnt play)
TOMBALL: 31
KLEIN FOREST: 38

TOES’ 2011 WEEK 9 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS
THURS- Probably one one the most wildest scenes at a football game came at UCLA vs Arizona when a fan ran out Jace Lankow on the field dressed as a referee. While security was chasing him around. This gave players a chance to talk to one another then a brawl broke out. 2 of my favorite things about sports right after another its great check this out 1st video is a friend of the fan who knew he was gonna run out, then the 2nd video is how it showed on ESPN watch it!!
THURS. Tomball believe it or not I still think is mathematically alive for the playoffs (see below by the standings for the details) even after it seemed to get a break and failed to capitalize on Klein Oak’s misfortunes earlier in the week when EJ Fatu was troubled with some drug charge and removed from the team (word is pot was found on him at school) then the previous week they lost a couple of players to injury all state linebacker AJ Hillard was one of them. No matter they couldn’t cover or stop Notre Dame commit Nicky Baratti in the secondary. Here are the Highlights from that game, Although it should be labeled Nicky Baratti highlight reel but check it out
FRIDAY – Morton Ranch clinched a playoff spot, no big deal with them. It means no possible Katy vs Allen dream match-up in the state title game. Katy cause of Morton Ranch and Cinco Ranch clinching playoff births will now go to the division 2 bracket. For the 4 playoff teams the two teams with the highest student enrollment go to division 1 the two lowest enrollment school go to division 2
SATURDAY-was shaping up to be one of the most plain college football weekends of the year, until the night time when 2 things happened. One was the Michigan State Hail Mary one of those plays that will be shown again and again for years to come
Oklahoma was upset after a lengthy weather delay this game finished just after midnight. Oklahoma fell behind early, then rallied back to fall just short to Texas Tech
SUNDAY- Tim Tebow came up big in his 1st NFL Start. It was ugly, very ugly but he won. Kind of reminds me of another NFL QB Vince Young, Vince won games had a winning record as a starter. Tebow’s situation like Vince’s wont last long. It wont be long before WR Brandon Lloyd will start complainig about not getting 10-12 balls thrown his way each game, and the 5 or 6 he will see a game will be slightly off target. His complaining will mess up team chemistry and Denver will be right in the thick of the Andrew Luck race, But I still think they draft a QB if it Luck or not. I think USC Matt Barkley would be a good fit, and John Elway will take him if he cant get Luck.

OKLAHOMA SOONERS(-) @ KANSAS STATE WILDCATS (+)
Saturday October 29th 2011 pm, @ 2:30pm Kansas St TV: ABC
<
Oklahoma QB Landry Jones, WR Ryan Broyles Kansas State QB Colin Klein, RB Josh Huebert
Oklahoma will come looking for blood after getting upset last week at the hands of Texas Tech. Kansas State come in undefeated but I think their schedule so far to date is a little light in the competition department
TOES PICK: OKLAHOMA: 41 KANSAS STATE: 17
HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK
ALEDO BEARCATS vs BIRDVILLE
THURS. OCT. 27th 7pm Aledo TV: espnU
Aledo RB Jonathan Gray (Texas Longhorn Commit)
Anytime Texas High School Football is on National TV that one gets game of the week status. Eventhough this game doesnt figure to be close. Texas Longhorn Commit Jonathan Gray will be on display, as he inches closes to the all-time leading scorer in high school football. But Aledo should win big in this one
TOES PICK:
ALEDO: 55
BIRDVILLE: 20
TOMBALL COUGARS vs KLEIN BEARKATS
Saturday Oct. 29th 2011 2pm Klein Memorial (Klein H.S.) TV/WEBCAST http://www.foxsportshouston.com
Tomball LB Kyle Harden, QB Justin Dvorak Klein RB David Hamm, WR/QB Andrew Santacroce
This game will be WEBCAST or Streamed live 2pm on www.foxsportshouston.com So check it out if your out of town or cant make it to the game. Klein has struggled since starting out 3-0 and havent won a district game yet they have played some close ones. Klein probably has this game circled as this could be their only chance for a district win.
according to my projections I could be wrong but Tomball needs to finish in a 4 way tie for 4th If its a 3 way tie Tomball loses all point tie breakers But if its a 4way I think Tomball could get in (im not sure about 13-5A 4way tie breakers but if its points here is how I see it
IF a 4 way tie for 4th place happens, I have no idea what the 4 Way tie breaker for 13-5A is I cant find it on any websites, but most districts use the point system with games involved with the four teams, some use teams record against each other in the 4ways, there could be other ways each individual district has their own way of tie breaking.
IF ITS RECORD AGAINST EACH OTHER HERE IS HOW IT GOES
Klein Forest (1-2) Westfield (1-2) Spring (2-1) Tomball (2-1)
Tomball & Spring both 2-1, Spring is IN cause of head to head victory over Tomball
IF IT IS POINT SYSTEM (not sure what the cap off point is each district is different or has their own)
WESTFIELD vs L Tomball,35-14 (-21) vs W Klein Forest 49-28 (+21), vs L Spring 49-37 (-12
(-12) if 18 cap (-12) if 14 cap (-12) KLEIN FOREST vs Tomball (??) vs L Westfield 49-28 (-21) W Spring (35-33) (+2)
so far (-19) is 18 cap (-16) if 14 cap (-12) SPRING vs Tomball 35-28 (+7) vs Klein Forest 35-33(-2) vs Westfield 49-37 (+12)
(+17) all the way with any cap TOMBALL vs Klein Forest (??) vs W Westfield 35-14 (+21) vs Spring L 35-28 (-7)
21 cap is (+14) if 18 cap (+11) if 14 cap (+7)
BOTTOM LINE HERE IS WHAT I BELIEVE HAS TO HAPPEN
FOR TOMBALL TO MAKE PLAYOFFS
Tomball MUST BEAT Klein
Klein Forest MUST BEAT Dekaney (not likely) (even more unlikely if Matt Davis is still hurt) he got knocked out of last weeks game in 1st quarter with a bad ankle, he was walking on it on the sidelines, but limping noticeably
Spring goes 0-2 vs Klein Oak & Klein Collins (could happen)
Westfield goes 0-2 vs Klein Collins & Dekaney (could happen)
Tomball MUST BEAT Klein Forest by 4 or 7 or more points (depends on point cap for 13-5A)

TOES’ 2011 WEEK 8 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS
FRIDAY-Tomball and Dekaney played one of the most entertaining games of the season. It started out bad as Dekaney RB and A&M Commit Trey Williams took the ball 60+ yards for a TD, Dekaney put up 35 first half points. Tomball also put up 20 1st half points led by the passing game with the Justin Dvorak Jameson Johnson connection hooking up a few times for some big plays. The 2nd half Tomball staged a comeback the defense settled down had some stops. The offense moved the ball put up some TD’s and took the lead. Dekaney midway through the 4th had Trey Williams broke a long run before being bumped out at the 2 then the QB punched it in on the next play, to take a 41-39 lead. Tomball then drove the ball down to the Dekaney 27, on 1st and 10 a Offensive Pass Interference penalty absolutely killed them.(it was justified I believe watch the vid below) It took the ball out of field goal range, and Tomball wasn’t able to get the ball back in range. Now they did get it to the 33 yard line which would be a 50 yard field goal. During pregame warm-up, I never saw the FG kicker make a 50, I was watching but not closely to see every kick but the ones I did see from that range weren’t good. So I think that might of played into the decision not to kick. I don’t know I never saw the Kicker get injured any during the game either, I don’t know why the decision to not try the FG was made. But usually when that decision is made there is a pretty valid decision behind it. Anyways here is the highlights below
Klein Oak (Tomball’s next opponent) was in a close battle with Westfield. Westfield took a 21 point lead Klein Oak came back to tie it up late then Westfield hit a field goal with no time left to win it Check out the vid below
Hey MSU linebacker William Gholston, how do you really feel about Michigan??
Hey Oregon Coach Chip Kelly, what do you think about kids that run on the field after the games??
Hey AJ Hawk Packers linebacker, tell us what you really think of the Rams linemen in this past Sunday’s game

HOUSTON TEXANS(+3) @ TENNESSEE TITANS (-3)
Sunday October 23rd 2011 pm, @ LP Field Tennessee
Texans RBArain Foster, QB Matt Schaub Titans RB Chris Johnson, CB Cortland Finnegan
Texans got beat up last week at Baltimore. Titans were off last week healing up. This will be the 2nd road game in a row for the Texans. With that said you could see which way I’m leaning with this one. The Texans really need this one to stay in contention for the division title. If the Texans lose this one they will be 3-4 and Titans would be 4-2, The Texans would be going games behind and with the victory the titans would own the tiebreaker over Houston by beating them. But since I dont pick Titans games anymore. Some people ask me why I never bet on the Titans?? 2 reasons 1. If I was to bet money on them and lose I would be double pissed. 2. I bet 50 cents on the Oilers/Titans back in 93 on that Bills comeback game where they lost in the wildcard game with a record 35-3 comback from the Bills. By betting on that I thought I was the one that jinxed them. So from that day on I told myself that I would never bet on the Oilers/Titans again TOES PICK: TEXANS: no pick TITANS:

KLEIN COLLINS VS KLEIN FOREST GOLDEN EAGLES
FRIDAY. OCT. 14th 2011 7pm Klein Memorial Stadium
Klein Forest QB Matt Davis (A&M Commit) Klein Collins QB Tyler Stehling (Rice Commit) WR Shane Rhoades (Boise St Commit)
Whoever comes out of this game will be in the drivers seat and control their own destiny for the playoffs. Klein Forest after starting the season hot have cooled off the last couple of weeks taking a couple of loses in the process. This week they face some stiff competition with Klein Collins who started out slow but has heated up as of late. I will take the team that is hot now

TOMBALL COUGARS vs KLEIN OAK PANTHERS
Thursday Oct. 20th 2011 7pm Klein Memorial (Klein H.S.)
Klein Oak RB/LB E.J. Fatu, ATH Nicky Baratti. Tomball LB Eric Law, DT A.J. Mathews
Klein Oak and Tomball both come into this one with heartbreaking close loses. Klein Oak lost with a last second FG made by Westfield in their game. (see the video up top) Tomball’s 2nd half comeback against Dekaney fell just short. (see the video up top) Klein Oak is still in pretty good shape for the playoffs. But they want to keep that top seed so they can avoid a 1st round match up with The Woodlands. Tomball playoffs hopes look bleak but are still alive right now the most probable scenario I see (Tomball needs to win out, and Westfield and Spring lose 2 out of their last 3 games. Westfield plays Spring, Klein Collins, Dekaney. Spring plays Westfield, Klein Oak, Klein Collins. A Spring upset of Westfield would be helpful cause I can see Spring losing to Oak and Collins. But anyways this game is a must win. Klein Oak has moved their QB Notre Dame Nicky Baratti commit to WR and DB, and have Inserted Connor into the QB spot, he certainly doesn’t have the physical attributes that Baratti has If I had to guess he is 5-10 175 pounds or somewhere around there. I think this move comes from needing some playmakers on the outside and McQueen make good decisions and doesn’t commit turnovers, and has a good enough arm to make throws to the outside. Klein Oak has 2 very good running backs E.J. Fatu and Larenzo Stewart. Fatu is a Samoan Bulldozer a punishing back he gets the tough yardage one of the toughest backs I’ve seen around here in years. Instead of people hitting him he delivers the punishment. Fatu will also see thime a linebacker (which is where I think colleges are recruiting him to play) Stewart is just a sophomore but has been starting mid-way through his freshman year is more of the speedster type. But a school that has over 3,700 kids for a freshman to be starting at running back says he is gonna be something special. Defensively Klein Oak has been one of the better teams in the district holding Trey Williams to his lowest total since he has been at Dekaney 110 yards or something like that. Tomball will have to play a game similar to the one the played last week. I expect lots of passing attempts. If Tomball sustains some drives doesn’t turn the ball over they can be in this one till the end

PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS
THURS. Lufkin’s Win over The Woodlands basically clinches the district title for Lufkin, and they looked pretty good against The Woodlands, capitalizing on mistakes by the Highlanders
THURS- Allen vs Plano East was on National TV on ESPN2, Plano East gave the #1 ranked team in the state Allen all they could handle leading Allen by 17 at one point. But Allen staged a 2nd half comeback, with Alabama Commit Alec Morris putting on a show and showing what Texas high school football is all about, here some highlights
FRIDAY-Klein Collins 42 Tomball 10, It is what it is
FRIDAY Angleton vs Terry (Rosenberg) Some Tomball people might have been familiar with the beast in this one, Terry WR Derrick Griffin 11 catches 143 yards 5 TD’s in the OT loss Tomball had the fortune of playing this guy in the 1st round of the state 7on7 tournament and they got a 1st hand look at how hard it is to match-up on this guy
SATURDAY- surprised to see my Alma mater on ESPN’s top plays but here it is SHSU Sam Houston State Tim Flanders flip into the end zone, P.S. SHSU shouldn’t schedule this game on OU vs UT Weekend I’m sure more people would go if they didn’t play the same day and time
SATURDAY-Good to see LSU Jarrett Lee out of Brenham High school doing well after the start he had at LSU, It always good to see products of the Texas High Schools running things at out of state Football programs, Speaking of which here is a story of Jarrett Lee at Brenham High School
SATURDAY- Nebraska vs Ohio St. Nebraska Rex Burkhead was the key piece in this one. Down by 21 points. He led the furious comeback and like Jarrett Lee, He is a Texan, Plano High School Here is a story from his high school days
SATURDAY-NASTY INJURY TO OREGON RB LaMichael James (yet another Texas boy) unfortunate injury though check it out its nasty
SUNDAY- Texans vs Raiders How bout the Fake punt the Raiders pulled on Houston, and guess who it was running the ball Rock Cartwright, some Tomball people might remember him. Rock ran for 396 yards in one game on Tomball back when Rock was at Conroe High School. Here is an interview with Rock, and what a coincidence how he talks the importance of special teams

Saturday October 15TH 2011 9:15pm, @ Autzen Stadium (Oregon)
Arizona State LB Vontae Burfict, QB Brock Orweiler Oregon RB Darron Thomas, RB LaMichael James
Oregon is slowly working its way back up the rankings after their early season loss to LSU. Starting RB suffered a bad arm injury last week to his arm, and it is unknown whether he will play or not. But betting wise in this game 16 is a really big number to be giving up. I think the line will go down but could be wrong I like 16 but think 14 would be better hopefully it gets bet down but I would still give up the 16

HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK
CY FALLS GOLDEN Eagles vs CY FAIR BOBCATS
FRIDAY. OCT. 14th 2011 7pm Berry Center, Cypress TX
This game will decide the District title. Cy Fair has the best defense in the district, Cy Falls has struggled to put up the big numbers against some others in the district. But I picked Cy Falls to win the district at the beginning of the year so I got to ride with them in this one. But don’t really feel to confident about it.
Tomball QB Justin Dvorak, OT Connor Patterson (rice commit) Dekaney RB Trey Williams (A&M Commit) QB Dajuan Hines
Tomball cant stop the run and Dekaney has the best running back in Houston. Tomball has pretty much stolen victories Dekaney the last two years. With that said I don’t expect to Dekaney to let off the gas in this one. Klein Oak showed to contain him last week and held him pretty good. But Tomball doesn’t have the horse’s that Oak does. Trey Williams has been putting up good numbers all year. But he hasn’t had that OMG eye popping stats game yet. I guessing this one to be it. Somewhere from 375-420 yards and 4 or 5 TD’s I think I said that last year as well. Dekaney has been trying to spread the ball around a lil bit more this year and with the guys they have they should. Jarrett Irving at WR who is a Houston commit and Armand Nance at TE who also plays DE is a Boise State Commit. But I don’t think they will be needed this game. Hopefully Tomball can steal another one from them but I think the 3rd time is the charm for Dekaney.
Some Dekaney Trey Williams highlights

BAYLOR BEARS (+9) @ TEXAS A&M AGGIES (-9)
SAT. OCT. 16th 2:30pm Kyle Field (college station)
Baylor QB Robert Griffin, WR Kendall Wright Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill, RB Cyrus Gray
Texas A&M comes back home after squeaking by at Texas Tech, giving up 40 points to Texas Tech, Baylor has a much better offense than Tech, more playmakers. Baylor has struggled on defense so A&M will give up some points A&M giving up 9 to Baylor seems like a big number, by gametime I could see that number going to 8 or to 7.5, If you can grab the 9 now I would take it. I think Baylor can score on A&M just like Texas Tech did last week enough to keep it close I will take Baylor (+9)

I love to see all these Cowboys fans go into panic mode once they realize their season is going down the tubes. Last week that happened and this week at New England, the Patriots could send them into full blown panic mode. But every time Dallas seems to want just pull the plug on Romo, he comes back and does something to keep his spot. I think he plays well this week, but is it well enough to keep the media and Cowboys nation off his back, I dunno bout that. But I like to fade coming off a great Patriots victory and a demoralizing Dallas loss. Dallas will lose but keep it close take Dallas (+7.5)
TOES’ 2011 WEEK 6 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS
THURS. UTEP vs Houston, UTEP had a valiant effort against UH, but every time I watch UTEP play I keep thinking to myself how much longer are they gonna keep Mike Price around he has been there since 2003 he was on a hot seat last year. They barely made it to a bowl game with a 6-6 record. I predict Mike Price could be one the 1st coaches to be let go. I still think UTEP & Mike Leach would be the perfect fit. Here is one of my favorite Leach speeches I love how he calls out the “god squad kids” it great!! check it out
FRIDAY- Spring 35-Tomball 28, since the summer I think I been voicing concerns over the outside linebackers and it seems weekly that I am bad mouthing them well I’m not gonna do that this week, I will let the video do the talking, embarrassing watch them on the 1st two plays on this video, (the shake on the second play YIKES) I haven’t seen the JV play but you got to think there is someone else around that school that can do better, or someone else to give a chance to, I don’t know, but watch the vid
FRIDAY-Klein Collins is 0-2, I knew they wouldn’t be what they were last year, but jeez 0-2, they lost to Klein Oak and Dekaney, so things should look up from here on out as the hard part of their schedule is done. They are gonna be mad and be looking to punish whoever they play this week….Which is Tomball, Speaking of Dekaney (my preseason district champ pick) is 5-0 and I always said if Trey Williams wasn’t there they still win this district, He is icing on the cake. Check out the air attack Dekaney put on Klein Collins (oh and Trey Williams did have over 200 yards and a couple of TD’s)
SATURDAY-This Robert Griffin Heisman talk needs to stop, If Baylor lost only 1 or 2 games this season, He would win it hands down. But after losing to Kansas State then tack on 2-3 more losses for the year, you cant give the Heisman to a QB that loses 3-4 games, He will be sitting in New York on Heisman night but he’s not gonna win it. But he is the most exciting player in college football
SATURDAY-Speaking of Heisman Is there anything Andrew Luck cant do?? Check out the one handed grab!!
SATURDAY- Boy was I wrong on that Nebraska-Wisconsin game (lost $55 on Nebraska (+9.5) Nebraska Defense looked horrible, but other than that I still think this is one of the best traditions going today in college football
SATURDAY-hopefully this is the start of the phase out Case McCoy at Texas, True Freshman David Ash had the hot hand in the blowout win over Iowa St. Im hopeful Ash will become the full time QB and not have to rotate with McCoy
SUNDAY- Hope the Andre Johnson injury isn’t too serious, They got the titans in a couple of weeks and Texans WR Johnson vs Titans CB Finnegan is one of the best match-ups in football today,
SUNDAY- Speaking of Titans they are 3-1 as well, At the beginning of the season I was pretty upset that they signed Matt Hasselbeck. (but I didn’t have choice for anybody else), but this year he has been playing great. And Since they have already won 3 games that pretty much takes them out the Andrew Luck lottery, So with that being said lets go ahead an win this thing the Division title is there for the taking.

TEXAS QB David Ash, WR Jaxon Shipley (both true freshman) Oklahoma QB Landry Jones, WR Ryan Broyles
Both these teams come in undefeated, and both coming off of blowout victories last week. Oklahoma has opened up this week as a 9 point favorite, a big scary number but one I believe they can cover. UT has has somewhat of an easy schedule. Oklahoma has been dominating anyone they play and with all the youth on Texas roster I got to go with OU in this one minus the 9.5 points TOES PICK: OKLAHOMA: 41 TEXAS: 21

THE WOODLANDS HIGHLANDERS vs LUFKIN PANTHERS
THURS. OCT. 6th 2011 7pm Abe Martin Stadium, Lufkin TV: FOXSW houston comcast 37,
The Woodlands WR Blake Webb (Oklahoma St Commit), #93 Mitchell Meyers (Iowa State Commit) Lufkin RB Jamarcus Walker, QB Nick Cox
HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST YEARS GAME
This game just like the last 4 years will decide the district title. Every year these two seem to battle it out and this one will be televised on FOX Sports. The Woodlands has been rolling this year just like every year during the regular season. They have Blake Webb one of the fastest white kids in the state who has committed to Oklahoma State, along with DE Meyers who is committed to Iowa State. Lufkin for the 1st time since I can remember (1997) has a white QB this year Nick Cox, with WR Jabryce Taylor, and running back Jamarcus Walker. I’m expecting a shootout but a close game, The Woodlands has seemed to have Lufkin’s number in the past and this year I think they have the better all around talent even with the lack of a top notch tailback but give me The Woodlands by 4 in this one.
TOES PICK:

TOMBALL COUGARS vs KLEIN COLLINS TIGERS
Friday Oct. 7th 2011 7pm Klein ISD Memorial Stadium
Klein Collins comes in on a two game losing streak, Tomball comes in off a deflating loss to Spring (watch the vid top of this blog post )which they had multiple chance to win. Up by 7 Tomball had a chance to nail a (my guess 35 yd) field goal to take a 10 point lead 31-21 (31-21 also was my prediction for the final score) and to force Spring to have to score twice to take the lead. But the kick went wide left, that feeling like Tomball just lost the game hit. Spring took the ball right down the field and scored the game tying TD. Then Tomball goes 3 and out on offense. Then Spring move to to borderline field goal range, Then they completely burn the corner on the outside with one of the most predictable out and up route you ever seen. That corner completely bit on that out route and the Spring receiver just ran right by him. The Offense for Tomball was clicking pretty well the receiver Johnson had 3 TD’s but sputtered in clutch time. This Klein Collins team is gonna be in panic mode, I would love nothing more than to see Tomball put Klein Collins to 0-3 in district play. But Klein Collins in back in a corner and need this one badly to stay in this playoff race so I will go with them big in this one.

Florida really struggled last week to score points against a tough Alabama defense, This week Florida goes up against an arguably better defense in LSU and without their starting QB Brantley In his place will be Briskel who many said was the #1 QB prospect coming out of high school. But going up against a defense that is NFL caliber will be a tough challenge that I dont think he will be ready for. Now the only question is can LSU score enough points cover a spread I was expecting a line of 8-10 but when I seen 14, you got to take that with Florida. It may not win but taking double digit point spreads in the SEC cashes in more often than not

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, LB Clay Matthews Falcons QB Matt Ryan, WR Julio Jones (Rookie)
In a rematch of last years NFC playoff game Aaron Rodgers comes into this game throwing the ball better than anyone in the NFL at the moment. Atlanta is started slow out of the gate this year and barely held on to a win against the worst team in the NFL in my opinion the Seattle Seahawks. Falcons were my preseason super bowl pick. I think this home game will be the game that gets there season rolling and some kind of revenge from last years playoff game

PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS
THURSDAY Klein vs Klein Forest was the game of the week and it lived up to the billing, A back and forth game Klein WR Andrew Santacroce had a drive where they passed 7 times and he caught all 7 balls with a TD to cap it Matt Davis (A&M commit) did his thing as well! But dont take my word for it check it out it was the DQ Big Game of the Week!
The Brawl/late hit from yet another televised game on channel 13.2 Between Houston Lamar vs Chavez
There was also another brawl in a game in Pennsylvania last week that started for the almost exact reason as the Lamar Chavez Brawl here is that one
Malcolm Brown Brenham DT (University of Texas Commit)
FRIDAY went to the Magnolia West vs Brenham game, Brenham’s Malcolm Brown was all over the field showing his athleticism. At 6’4 290 he caught a 50 yard TD pass nobody on the magnolia west defense wanted anything to do with having to bring him down, nobody really blocked him on defense either has he had multiple tackles and sack in the backfield and he also blocked an extra point
SATURDAY watching college football Pitt vs I seen something I didnt think has ever happened A TRUE FRESHMAN WALK ON QB actually on the field playing, If this was the first time of course it would be a player from Houston Texas, Pitt QB Trey Anderson(pic above) the quarterback from Pearland who led his team to the state championship last year. Anderson had no D1 offers was going to Tyler Junior College but I guess decided to walk on at PITT. I looked him up it seems that he has played in earlier games and September 1st the coach Todd Graham gave Anderson a scholarship. Also later that night his teammate at Pearland RB Dustin Garrison at West Virginia scores a TD against LSU later that night. Garrison (true freshman) also didnt have any D1 offers if he did is wasnt more than 2 or 3. I think the only reason WVU offered him was because Cy-Creek RB Jermichael Selders decommitted from WVU, thus opening the spot for Garrison. But these are some good stories for any high school player who is down on the way their recruiting offers are going.
SATURDAY Tomball played its best game of the season here is a quick highlight clip from channel 2 friday night frenzy show, and as far as this Xavier Powell Hit of the Week its alright but anyone that was at the game knows that the the hit of the game was on 4th and 1 by #55 Kyle Harden when he hit hit that 280 lb DT playing Running back, But those TV people that go to games to get highlights for TV stations rarely stay for the whole game. They stay for one or two scores then leave to another game at halftime, especially if its not a close game at half but anyways heres the clip

#3ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE (-3.5) @ #12 FLORIDA GATORS (+3.5)
Saturday October 1st 2011, @ “The Swamp” TV: CBS
Both these teams come in undefeated, Alabama opened up a 5 point favorite, its since moved to 3.5 Florida is the home team in this one and I always say about SEC games take the points. This year SEC underdogs havent panned out to well so far but. History says the SEC teams getting points is always a good way to go. But I like Florida in this one anyways, I still dont think the Alabama QB’s havent been tested yet either of them Sims or McCarron, even though I expect McCarron to play most the game. Neither team has been effective passing the ball with both teams running the ball the clock should keep moving. I like Florida to win but the 3.5 points gives a little room for error.

FRIDAY SEPT. 30th 2011 George Stadium, Spring TX
Dekaney RB Trey Williams (Texas A&M Commit) Klein Collins QB Tyler Stehling (Rice Commit) WR Shane Rhodes (Boise St. Commit)
Klein Collins loss last week to Klein Oak in 3OT takes a little of the luster in this one. This game right here is for the district championship to me. Eventhough with Klein Collins loss, Dekaney handled its business and is 4-0. I said it since the middle of the summer that Dekaney is gonna win this game and win the district. I still stand by that. Dekaney Trey Williams is their offense. Klein Collins has a good defense so they gonna have to find someone else to contribute in this one. I think Dekaney hits a couple of big pass plays. to be the difference. Dekaney has players all over the field, as does Klein Collins with a Rice Commit at QB and a Boise St commit at WR, and a top junior (Goodson) at the RB position. But I’m going Dekaney in this one

TOMBALL COUGARS vs SPRING LIONS
Friday Sept. 30th 2011 7pm Cougar Stadium (Tomball)
Tomball LB Kyle Harden, DT A.J. Mathews Spring (Soph) QB Darius Campbell-Lee (Soph) RB Doroland Dorceus
Tomball comes in off of their best game of the season so far against Westfield (watch the video up at the beginning of this page) The offense and defense clicked not making any costly mistakes, besides the one fumble. The sophomore RB Xavier Powell finally started to break some long runs. The receivers caught the ball, the defense played well keeping the running back bottled up for the most part. Now with that game you could also blame it on Westfield shooting itself in the foot with the penalties, the bad snaps which killed them. But Tomball didnt make the mistakes, and capitalized when Westfield did make them. If you want to get picky about it Tomball did have way too many runs for no gain, and the defense let WR’s beat them deep late in the game and in obvious passing situations 3rd and like 30+. The Westfield QB lack of accuracy is what saved them there. This week they play Spring and its Tomball’s homecoming. Spring is fielding a very young team the QB is a sophomore as is the RB along with a WR the whole roster is littered with soph and junior even a couple of freshman. Just because of the youth of their team got to go with Tomball by 10 in this one
