OVERALL GAME OF THE WEEK

(5-0) Tomball Cougars vs (5-0) Klein Collins Tigers
7pm Friday October 8th Cougar Stadium Tomball

Photobucket
WR Montrell Logan, QB Justin Dvorak (Junior), WR Hunter Thompson

Photobucket
LB David Santos, (Nebraska Commit) QB Tyler Stehling, CB/RB Charles Jackson (Pre Season 1st Team All-State)

This is easily the biggest game Tomball has had within the last 10 years. Both Teams are 5-0, Its not as big as The Woodlands vs Lufkin game that will be going on in The Woodlands at the same time (you can read about that one below). Its also homecoming should be a really big crowd. Tomball has really been filling the stands as it is. Since its homecoming they should really think about putting in some extra temporary bleachers cause there really isnt gonna be a place in the stands for people that havent been normally coming to the games. Woodlands before their new stadium would put some temp. bleachers in the end zone and all the junior high kids would sit there. with the noise they would make it I think its a little advantage. But anyways its not often a Tomball matchup can realistically be put in a game of the week category so I’ll put it here this week. Both teams come into this one not looking their best last game Klein Collins had a bit of a close call against Dekaney, Tomball struggled with Spring early. And I think Spring beat themselves more than Tomball beat them. With all the bad snaps they had in key situations they looked like Florida has this year with their center troubles. Klein Collins is littered with players who will be playing in big time colleges. On Offense their QB is also the star pitcher on the baseball team and thats where his future is at. Their Offensive line has real good size, The good news for Tomball is that OT Garrett Greenlea who is commited to University of Texas tore his ACL 2 weeks ago and is out for the year. Their WR’s are not elite but their play-action passes makes them look better at getting open than they are. They are loaded at RB Maquise Cardinal, Shane Rhodes, are the 1-2 punch with sophmore Marcus Goodson (A&M/Carolina Panthres Michael Goodson’s lil bro) On defense they have a LB that is commited to Nebraska #32 David Santos, and a Corner Charles Jackson who was a preseason 1st team All-State selection, and if he gets the S.A.T. Score he will be able to name what school he goes to because everyone wants him. He also has been getting a few carries at RB also. If Tomball can contain the backs, The majority of Klein Collins big plays this year has been the backs catching the ball out of the backfield. With the atmosphere and home crowd hopefully it can make a difference.

TOES PICK
TOMBALL: 14
KLEIN COLLINS: 28 (I hope I’m Wrong)

HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK

(#13) The Woodlands Highlanders (5-0) vs (#7) Lufkin Panthers (6-0)
Friday October 8th 7pm WOODFOREST STADIUM (woodlands)

HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST YEARS GAME

Photobucket Lufkin "Bush" Smiley QB
The Woodlands RB Daniel Lasco (senior)                                                                             Lufkin QB “Bush” Smiley
(California Commit)

Two state ranked teams meet up and this one. Just like the last two years this game will decide the district title. This game is always entertaining. Lots of trash talk, and the State 7on7 tournament they met in the Championship game of the consolation bracket. And there was a lot of trash talk in that 7on7 game Lufkin was really letting Woodlands RB Daniel Lasco hear it. Last years game was a battle with The Woodlands winning on the road in Lufkin. This year I believe Lufkin gonna return the favor and pull of the victory in The Woodlands’ house. Last year Lufkin kept Lasco in check under 100 yards, Lasco hasnt played since week one with an ankle injury, They havent really needed him he could have played the last couple of weeks I believe but the blowouts they have had didnt really warrant the risk of losing him for longer. and with what is returning this year and the couple of lineman Woodlands lost from last year Chad Lindsey went to (Alabama) Lufkin has better team speed and has blown out really good competition this year so far. Woodlands has given up to decent point totals to decent teams. But Lufkin will be better than any team they have seen this year Im going Lufkin in this one

TOES PICK:
THE WOODLANDS: 24
LUFKIN: 37

COLLEGE GAME OF THE WEEK

#12 LSU TIGERS @ #14 FLORIDA GATORS
SATURDAY OCT. 9TH 6:30 PM Florida TV: ESPN

LSU RUSSELL SHEPARD,LSU RUSSELL SHEPARD Photobucket

LSU WR/QB/RB Russell Shepard                                  Florida QB Trey Burton

Its a pretty slow week as far as match-ups go with this being the and Michigan/Michigan St. being the only Top 25 match-ups of the weekend. And both these teams are coming off of really crappy performances. LSU should were gift wrapped a victory by Tennessee having 13 guys on the field for that final play!! Florida was completely manhandled by Alabama. Both teams have pitiful quarterback situations. Who ever is behind Brantley at Florida should be getting a chance. All three QB’s at LSU have been given a shot but cant seem to do anything at all. Both teams do have 1 playmaker on offense. Russell Shepard at LSU and Trey Burton at Florida, and since Florida is at home, I’ll go with Florida

TOES PICK
LSU: 10
FLORIDA: 17

NFL GAME OF THE WEEK
MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ NY JETS
Monday Oct. 11th 7pm TV: ESPN

VIKINGS ADRIAN PETERSONPhotobucket

Vikings Adrain Peterson                                                  Jets Ladainian Tomlinson

Brett Favre gets will get another chance to go against his former team which is loaded, The Jets with Sanchez QB play early on looking like the super bowl favorite so far. Peterson gets to go against one of the best Defenses in the NFL and I think they will prioritize stopping him and make Brett Favre throw it up and with Rice gone and the lack of WR’s on Minnesota I’ll give the Jets the victory here ***update**** since writing this Randy Moss has been since traded to the Vikings, but Darrell Revis returns to the line-up from injury so I will consider that a wash eventhough Moss did make that outstanding one handed TD grab on him a few weeks ago

TOES PICK
MINNESOTA: 10
NY JETS: 21

TOES NFL PICKS (against the point spread)
1. NY Jets (-4) vs Minnesota
2. Tampa Bay (+6.5) @ Cincinnati
3. Houston (-3) vs NY Giants

6. Baltimore (-7) vs Denver

9. Carolina (-1) vs Chicago
10. San Francisco (-3) vs Philadelphia
11. St. Louis (+3) @ Detroit
12. Arizona (+7) vs New Orleans
