WEEK 8 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS

PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS

  • Again this week I’ll start off with the Tomball game great come from behind victory kinda hard to explain and one of those you had to be there type moments to understand the series of events that went down you can see the video http://www.tomballfootball.com but it doesnt really tell the story or show the onside kick, or Tomball moving down the field on the last drive
  • -Trey Williams SCORES TD to put Dekaney up by 8 points 1:40 left
-Dekaney (KEY PLAY) misses the extra point 28-20 Dekaney
-Tomball goes down the field in under a minute
-4th and 17 Tomball QB Dvorak hits WR Thompson for a 25 yard TD pass w/11 seconds left
    -Tomball misses 2 point attempt
-Tomball recovers onside kick that hits a couple of Dekaney players 10 seconds left
-Tomball QB scrambles hits WR for 1st Down 5 seconds left
-Tomball spikes ball to kill clock
-Tomball hits 40 yard field goal to win with no time left

OVERALL GAME OF THE WEEK

#6 LSU Tigers @ #4 Auburn Tigers
7pm Saturday October 23rd 2:30pm Jordan-Hare Stadium (Auburn) TV: CBS

LSU RUSSELL SHEPARD,LSU RUSSELL SHEPARD Cam Newton Auburn
Russell Shepard LSU ATH                                             Cam Newton Auburn QB

Auburn comes in with one of the hottest QB’s in the nation and is slowly putting his name in this heisman race Cam Newton. You’d have to think all these close wins is going to run out on Auburn but LSU has had its fair share of close games as well, but struggled big time against McNeese state before putting them away late. Auburn has a defense that has given up big yards to other teams. But the thing is I dont like LSU offense at all. So I got to go with Auburn (-6) the home team in this one

TOES PICK
AUBURN: 24
LSU: 14

HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK

KINDA SLOW WEEK IN HIGH SCHOOL NO HOUSTON GAME OF THE WEEK

TOMBALL COUGARS VS KLEIN OAK PANTHERS
7PM FRIDAY OCT. 22ND COUGAR STADIUM (TOMBALL)

Photobucket Photobucket

Justin Dvorak Tomball QB          Aurthur & E.J. Fatu w/ Father WWE Wrestler Umaga 1973-2009

Klein Oak has one of the better teams in the Houston area despite the three losses. Two losses were against top 10 ranked teams in the state in North Shore, and Klein Collins. Klein Oak comes in with a strong running game with their own version of smash & dash led by a couple of underclassmen Freshman #28 Larenzo Stewart and Junior #44 E.J. Fatu. When your a freshman starting on Varsity that’s saying something. From what I have seen of him he is more of a speedster with a running style similar to what Tomball saw last week in Dekaney RB Trey Williams. Quarterback Nicky Baratti who will be the best running quarterback they will see this year. Then when they wear down the defense Klein Oak brings in the son of WWE wrestler Umaga who past away shortly after last football season, #44 Junior EJ Fatu fits his fathers wrestling nickname the samoan bulldozer. #44 comes in and is one of the hardest hitting RB I have seen in this district in a few years. Even tackling him low he has some tree trunks for legs. EJ Fatu also has a brother Aurthur Fatu #75 who plays right guard.  Then when your zeroed in stopping the run they hit you with the play action pass to Oklahoma commit 6’6 Tight End/WR Max Stephenson #16. On Defense Klein Oak has another Oklahoma Commit DE # 47 Nathan Hughes who is listed at 6’6, 250 lbs. Tomball was very lucky to not have lost last week. Tomball offense had its moments last week but it seemed like QB #10 Justin Dvorak was running for his life on a lot of plays, Some the offensive lines fault, some his fault for holding on to the ball to long. But he kept he eyes down the field and made the plays but If that happens this week. Oak’s D-Line is better in pursuit than Dekaney is. Last week the defense struggled somewhat to stop the run  Trey Williams had over 300 yards and 3 TD’s on 32 carries Most the time he has close to those numbers on 15-22 carries. The Defense is going to have to make some early stops and stop #16 on the passing plays When they do pass it, it goes to #16 and eventhough thats no secret, Its kinda like last year when Tomball had Jordan Leslie you knew it was going to him and there just wasnt much you could do about it. If they can stay in it early and not get behind early Tomball should be alright  I think this could be a close game and very winnable. But I will take Oak in this one by a TD

TOES PICK:
TOMBALL: 21
KLEIN OAK: 28

DISTRICT 13-5A                                                    REMAINING GAMES
1. Klein Collins                     4-0                   Klein Forest, Westfield, Spring
2. Klein                                   3-1                     Dekaney, Tomball, Klein Oak
3. Tomball                              3-1                     Klein Oak, Klein, Klein Forest
4. Dekaney                            2-2                    Klein, Klein Forest, Westfield
5. Klein Oak                            2-2                    Tomball, Spring, Klein
6. Westfield                            1-3                      Spring, Klein Collins, Dekaney
7. Klein Forest                      1-3                     Klein Collins, Dekaney, Tomball
8. Spring                                   0-4                   Westfield, Klein Oak, Klein Collins

Here is the way Tomball would get the most help this week
Dekaney over Klein (toss up)
Spring over Westfield (highly unlikely)
Klein Forest over Klein Collins (wont happen) though this game is pretty irrelevant

COLLEGE GAME OF THE WEEK

#1 Oklahoma Sooners vs #11 Missouri Tigers
Saturday October 23rd , Faurot Field (Missouri)

Photobucket Photobucket

Demarco Murray Oklahoma RB                                  Blaine Gabbert Missouri QB

Oklahoma comes in #1 in the BCS standings and I cant really see them losing a game from here on out and dont see them losing this one specifically. Missouri does have a NFL type gunslinger at QB, Blaine Gabbert who was an Elite 11 QB out of high school. Eventhough the Sooners are particularly young this year. They have the running game and the defense to play keep away from Missouri so I got to go with them So take the Sooners (-3)
