WEEK 12 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS

PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS

I recently looked at this blog and all my past one’s on a cell phone then on a smaller sized window on a computer screen and the layout looks like crap, so if you are looking at this maximize the window on the computer screen!! that way the lay out and picture and videos are in the correct spot and looks good and organized!!

As always the 1st round of the playoffs saw a little bit of everything, Big Upsets the biggest came Saturday (Kingwood Park over Brenham (my state 4A champ pick), Klein Oak over The Woodlands, Some Barnburners, Willis over Magnolia West 46-45, Hightower over Clear Springs 41-35 in OT after Hightower blocked a last second field goal in regulation that Would have won it for Clear Springs

OVERALL (nfl, ncaa, high school) GAME OF THE WEEK

11-0 Euless Trinity Trojans vs 10-1 Allen Eagles
5pm Saturday Nov 20h Cowboys Stadium (Arlington)

Euless Trinity QB/RB/WR Brandon Carter                        Allen QB Alec Morris and LB Melvin Spears
(Oklahoma Commit)

The Texas High School Attendance record (49,000 and change) even National record (50,000 and change) ALL time Attendence record will probably be set for this one. To me will be a lil tainted but It will probably beat it. I’ll talk about that below, But as for the game itself #1 ranked Euless Trinity comes in with lots of size and and all everything Brandon Carter (oklahoma commit) he plays WR but its defense (CB is where I think he’ll end up in college) Last week he was suddenly put in at QB, to get the ball in his hands more and let him do his thing. The QB for most of the regular season has been Lahi Kautai but he is a better passer than he is runner. Which is why the move was made to Carter at QB to let him make some play with his feet. But they become very one dimensional when he is at QB. When Kautai has been at QB The one-two punch is at RB with Terrence Tusan has over 1,200 yards and Tevin Willams who is a college player as well and is a very agile but just has to follow that huge o-line. Trinity also is very big and athletic on defense. They have some real strength in the middle. Allen is one of the biggest high schools in texas enrollment wise in Texas over 5,000 kids. They are more balanced but throw a lil bit more than they run. After losing 2 quarterback to colleges last year they evidently have found the next in line in Alec Morris he has had a great year, and with a reciever like Jonathan Lee it makes it a lot easier with the big target on the outside. These two teams have played in the playoffs they last few years exchanging victories in 08 Allen won (went on to win state) in 09 Trinity won (went on to win state) 2010??? But who ever wins is the hands on favorite to win state (although Katy could have something to say about that. But with Trinty averaging 50 points a game and Allen averaging 40 expect a shootout. But I like Trinity D a lil bit more so I’m going with them.

ALLEN FANS                                                                     EULESS TRINITY FANS

Photobucket
Here is why I think this will break the attendace record.
In a stadium by itself this game would get 25-30,000 people
But its part of a quadruple header at Cowboys Stadium
1st game Cedar Hill vs Denton Guyer would normally get 14-18,000
2nd game Southlake Carroll vs Colleyville Heritage would get 15-20,000
3rd Euless Trinity vs Allen would normally get around 30,000 like they have in the past
4th game Duncanville vs Coppell would normally get 15-20,000
So I think those 1st two games a lot of those people will stay and all the duncanville and coppell will get there early to watch that game so there could easily be over 50,000 for that game

TOES PICK
EULESS TRINITY: 42
ALLEN: 28

HOUSTON HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK

Klein Oak Panthers vs Round Rock Stony Point Tigers
4pm Saturday Nov. 20th Klein Memorial Stadium (Klein H.S.)
Photobucket

Klein Oak TE Max Stevenson, DE Nathan Hughes                                            Stony Point DT Jordan Wade & LB P.L Lindley
ALL 4 OKLAHOMA SOONER COMMITS

Klein Oak comes in off the HUGE upset over previously undefeated Woodlands team now they have to play yet another unbeaten Round Rock Stony Point. Klein Oak last week shut down Woodlands RB Daniel Lasco holding him to only 36 yards, and Capitalizing on Woodlands turnovers. To come away a 31-14 victory. Stony Point beat a outmatched Austin Westlake team. Stony Point just had too much talent to for Westlake to contend with. Now for this game, if your an Oklahoma Sooner fan it would be in your best interest to go check this game out as there is 4 players committed to Oklahoma. For Stony Point its DT Jonathan Wade and LB P.L. Lindley. For Klein Oak its TE Max Stephenson and DE David Hughes. This is going to be one of the harder hitting games of the playoffs as Im ready to see the Samoan Bulldozer Klein Oak RB E.J. Fatu who is a junior go up against that Stony Point defense. On offense Stony Point has went with a 2 quarterback system all year. Last week one of them #15 Gus Barrera went down so this week I believe that its #17 Aaryn Sharp’s show he is a lil less mobile but they look like carbon copies so there shouldnt be a drop off, especially if #11 Sam Kelly is running the ball like he has all year. This is gonna be a battle so if your around Klein at 4 on saturday go check it out.

TOES PICK:
ROUND ROCK STONY POINT: 31
KLEIN OAK: 17

TOMBALL COUGARS (9-2) vs AUSTIN ANDERSON TROJANS (10-1)
7pm FRIDAY NOV. 19th Brenham Cub Stadium (Brenham)

Photobucket
Photobucket
Tomball #4 Montrell Logan, #9 Jameson Johnson, #10 Justin Dvorak, #24 Brandon Green, #8 Hunter Thompson
Photobucket
Anderson #5 Devonte Dewitt,    #3 QB Sam Wehmeyer,         #44 Connor Sheehan            #12 Justin Clark

Two teams that are really in uncharted territory. Tomball got their 1st playoff win since 1988. Great atmosphere, I got there an hour before kickoff there was RV’s in the parking lot and there was a long line to get in the stadium a full hour before kickoff. The stands were packed. IT WAS GOOD TO see!! Which kinda worries me about this game. Brenham’s stadium is a lot smaller than Aldine’s they will probably put in some temporary bleachers. But it still gonna be pretty full. SO GET THERE EARLY!!! Austin Anderson got their 1st playoff win in school history. I’m not sure how long that school has been there but they previously were 0-6 in playoff games. So needless to say both come in on emotional highs. Last week Tomball beat a Kingwood team you really couldnt say much about. Tomball after the 1st couple of drives held their option offense in check. Tomball’s offense was rolling and once Kingwood got behind they really couldnt move the ball to mount any sort of comeback.
Austin Anderson was in quite the battle last week with Westwood hitting a field goal with 5 minutes to take a 17-14 and Anderson’s stiff defense was able to keep them from scoring. Anderson runs a offense like to ground and pound it similar to Kingwood and Klein, from what I can see on online. They run out of a lot of different formations and there are 5-6 players that will end up getting carries for them. The Main Ball carriers are QB #3 Sam Wehmeyer and RB #5 Devonte Dewitty. Passing the ball is really their forte’ but when they do #12 Justin Clark is the main target. QB #3 Sam Wehmeyer a game manager, they dont pass a lot but when they do they are highly efficient he doesnt turn the ball over he has 16 TD passes to only 2 interceptions all year. Stature wise he is almost the mirror image size wise of Kingwood’s QB small fast and shifty. Sophomore Deryl Bunton is a speedster that plays both ways. The star player on Anderson is also a player who plays both ways #44 Connor Sheehan who is a RB/LB with linebacker being his best position. He can lay the wood as you can see in the highlights below. The good news for Tomball is #44 may not play. # 44 hurt his ankle in their 1st round game against Westwood. He got hurt in the 2nd half and never returned to the game. Last weeks game was close and never a blowout so because he never went back in and being his senior year and he the best player you would think his ankle is kinda bad cause he didnt go back in. But he will have 7 days to rest up and his backup did make the game saving tackle on 4th down last week. So take that for what you will. Should be yet another good game.

Here is a story of their star Linebacker/Fullback #44 Connor Sheehan who may or may not play Friday he hurt his ankle shortly after halftime in last weeks game and never returned to the game But I dont see how you cannot play in this game so count on him playing

Here some highlights of Anderson game against Hays

Here are some more highlights of #44 but in this vid you can get an idea on the kind of offense they run

TOES PICK: (no pick) wont be picking any Tomball games in the playoffs
There’s over 1,200 high schools in Texas and now over 900 of them are sitting at home (and when Tomball is usually one of them) you cant really be nit picking or critical of anything from here on out just enjoy it while it last

NFL GAME OF THE WEEK

Indianapolis Colts @New England Patriots
Sunday November 21st 3pm Gillette Stadium TV: CBS
Photobucket

Tom Brady New England QB                           Peyton Manning Colts QB

Its always one of the best games of the year when the two best Quarterbacks go up against each other. This one will be no different. The Patriots are coming in off a beatdown of Pittsburgh and their defense. Peyton’s team is having some injury problems but you couldnt notice the past few weeks as they have kept on reeling of the wins but this game I think it catches up to them so take The Patriots

1. NY Giants (+3.5) vs Philadelphia
2. New England (-4) vs Indianapolis
3. Seattle (+11.5) vs New Orleans
4. San Diego (-9.5) vs Denver
5. Carolina (+11.5) vs Baltimore
