WEEK 14 NFL, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS

PREVIOUS WEEKS REVIEW/RANDOM THOUGHTS

I recently looked at this blog and all my past one’s on a cell phone then on a smaller sized window on a computer screen and the layout looks like crap, so if you are looking at this maximize the window on the computer screen!! that way the lay out and picture and videos are in the correct spot and looks good and organized!!

Well Tomball’s run came to an end last week against Longview, But It was a great year for Tomball and really good to see and all the buzz going around. All the signs everywhere at the games around town, the RV’s and tailgaters and big crowds at the playoff games it was a college type atmosphere. It was fun while it lasted and hopefully this will continue for years to come even after they split up Tomball and open that new high school (I think that this New High School is the stupidest thing ever!! and If you voted for that to pass PISS ON YOU!!! I could go on about that for days with my dislike on that subject) But anyways…..The game was kinda what I expected it to be. Some things just didnt go their way. You could tell from the 1st two playoff games the were struggling big time in the middle on defense. Ever since #77 got kicked off the team teams were having success running up the middle on Tomball. Just when they would other teams would get to the goaline or in scoring position they couldnt get in or would shoot themselves in the foot. Longview didnt do that. I dont think having #77 would have won this game for Tomball but it would have certainly helped having him in there plugging the middle. Some things that didn’t help Tomball. One is turnovers 4 turnovers obviously wont cut it anywhere. Longview’s speed on defense was just too good, The little WR quick screens or QB draws Tomball runs that usually have been goin for 8,9,10,11 yards against other teams were barely getting 3-4 yards if that against Longview. The little 5 yard outs werent either there they were jumping over all of those. Would have liked to seen a hitch and go I think one of those woulda hit for a big gain. But thats another thing the speed of Longview D-line wasnt giving the QB time in the pocket or any kind of pocket. Field Position, Tomball was fighting an uphill battle all night particularly in the 1st half. Some turnovers put the defense in really bad positions and the put up a good fight in some spots but there just isnt much to do with such a short field to work with. Another break down, the kicking game, The punter has to feel kinda like to that Boise St. field goal kicker in the nevada game he kicked really well all year but the big game comes and you get two of the shortest and worst punts all year. Then if your on defense your already down by a TD then you have to come defend after a 3 and out then a horrible punt. It really sucks the life out of the Defense. But they did go 3 rounds and I always say the goal of any high school team should be to be playing after thanksgiving. and Tomball did that. But the way the division 2 bracket played out There wasnt a OMG team sitting anywhere after round one after some upsets in region 1 and 2 Tomball could have been right there with anyone (whoever wins Southlake Carroll vs Denton Guyer thats who wins state)region 3 and region 4 were awful from the start of the playoffs. Now as for next year off the top of my head Tomball does have some pieces coming back and lose some big pieces. namely the secondary with all four starters now gone. That should be the big thing to watch over spring football and over the summer during 7on7.

Here video of a kid falling out of the stands at the Arizona St. UCLA game , that kid bounces off the ground like a rubber ball check it out (oh and he is ok now)

Certainly a play of the year canidate, and watch Broyles get decleated after the Interception

Everyone has seen this But I think Andre Johnson should have been suspended for this. This is very Hockeyish ← if thats a word. In Hockey You got a player that goes out there and gets under the star players skin. Hoping the star player does something stupid to get penalized or get sent to the penalty box. And in some cases it works. But most hockey teams have a player or players that know there role and go out there and fight the agitator. Courtland Finnegan did his job did nothing outside the rules, Andre was just dumb enough to retaliate. He should have been gone for at least a game.
