CLASS 5A DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Southlake Carroll Dragons (15-0) vs. Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes(13-2) vs. 4 p.m. Cowboys Stadium TV: Fox Sports SouthwestPhotobucket
Southlake Carroll QB Kenny Hill (jr) WR Sabian Holmes (Baylor Commit)          HIGHTOWER Bralon Addison (Texas A&M Commit) RB Joshua Wilhite

Southlake had the comeback of the year, last week against a Skyline line team that pretty much had the game sewn up leading by 10 with 2:26 left. Southlake scores a TD then recovers an onside kick (controversial one too see the video above) Then proceeds to score the game winning touchdown. I said it last week. Those inner city schools seem to just make the biggest mistakes and choke the game away when it matters the most. On the other end Hightower has the hottest player in the playoffs Bralon Addison using his legs and his arm. In this Match-up I like Southlake, Southlake lose Their best players WR Williams was hurt last week I dont know if he will play this week, but when you sitting in a wheelchair at the end of the game im guessing your not playing anytime soon. Hightower played a similar team to Southlake (The Woodlands) They lost to The Woodlands and I expect them to do the same in a high scoring affair gimme Southlake in this one
CARROLL’s MIRACLE COMEBACK AGAINST DALLAS SKYLINE

HERE IS GOOD EXAMPLE OF WHY YOU EITHER LOVE OR HATE SOUTHLAKE

TOES PICK:
SOUTHLAKE CARROLL: 38
FORT BEND HIGHTOWER:31

CLASS 5A DIVISION II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Spring Dekaney Wildcats(13-2) vs. Cibolo Steele Knights (15-0), Saturday 8pm, Cowboys Stadium TV: Fox Sports Southwest

Photobucket
Dekaney RB Trey Williams (Texas A&M Commit) QB Dujaun Hines (Houston Commit) Cibolo Steele QB Tommy Armstrong (Nebraska Commit)

If Hightower’s Bralon Addison is the hottest player in the playoffs, Dekaney’s Trey Williams is right there with him. No one in the playoffs has been able to contain him. Cibolo Steele is gonna be the best defense they have seen all year. If Williams is slowed at all any. They gonna have trouble keeping pace with Steele QB Tommy Armstrong (Nebraska Commit) In my preseason picks I was really high on Dekaney this year. But I got to go with the defending state champion Cibolo Steele in this one

SOME TREY WILLIAMS HIGHLIGHTS

SOME TOMMY ARMSTRONG HIGHLIGHTS

TOES PICK:
CIBOLO STEELE: 31
SPRING DEKANEY:24

CLASS 4A DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Hewitt Midway vs. Lake Travis Cavaliers, 8:00 p.m. Friday Cowboys Stadium TV: Fox Sports Southwest
Photobucket
LAKE TRAVIS QB Blake Mayfield (jr) WR Griffin Gilbert (TCU Commit) MIDWAY WR Hunter Jarmon QB Deandre Ford

THE DRIVE FOR 5. Lake Travis goes for its 5th straight state title. No team has ever accomplished that. Its unbelievable to me. With all the injuries and position switches and to end up still 15-0 and playing in the state title game really says something about Lake Travis and the program they got going. And just as good as their offense has been in years past. Their Defense has caught up to them and is just as good as their offense. Blake Mayfield who started out the season as backup QB But when stater (SMU Commit) Colin Lagasse got hurt. Mayfield filled right in. Lagasse is now a athlete they move all over the field catching and running the ball. They only team in their bracket I could see even staying close to Lake Travis in the Playoffs was Pearland Dawson and they smashed them 45-14 last week. But Im hoping for a closer game this time. But got to stick with my preseason state champ pick Lake Travis

THE DRIVE FOR 5 IS ALIVE!!

TOES PICK:
LAKE TRAVIS: 48
HEWITT MIDWAY: 20

CLASS 4A DIVISION II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Aledo Bearcats (13-2) Manvel Mavericks 12pm Saturday, Cowboys Stadium TV: Fox Sports SouthwestPhotobucket
ALEDO RB Jonathan Gray (Texas Commit) MANVEL RB Kaylon Melacon, QB Shane McCarley

Aledo started out the year shaky going 0-2. But I predicted Aledo to win state (as did everyone else) and get the 3 peat. Aledo Jonathan Gray is doing his thing as usual, I dont know if he will get 8 TD’s like last years state game. But Im expecting a high scoring game from Aledo. The only question is if Manvel can keep pace. Aledo’s defense has stepped it up big time shutting out Stephenville in the regionals. Aledo is the pick Aledo by 20

HERE’S THE STAR OF THE SHOW Texas Commit Jonathan Gray

HERE IS HOW MANVEL GOT HERE

TOES PICK:
ALEDO: 55
ALVIN MANVEL: 30

Class 3A Division II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Argyle Eagles vs. Wimberley Texans, 4pm Friday Cowboys Stadium, TV: Fox Sports Southwest

Photobucket
Argyle QB Austin Aune (TCU Commit) WIMBERLY RB-S Dennis Smith, WR Brennen Blakemore

At the beginning of the season, These were the two teams I picked to be playing in this game. I picked Wimberly to win. So I will stick with them. But the way Argyle QB Austin Aune (TCU Commit) has been playing in the playoffs I want to pick them. Wimberly defense will be the reason they win this game. I cant see Wimberly having a shootout with Argyle but both QB’s can certainly light it up but give me a close low scoring win for Wimberly if the scoring gets up in the 30’s Argyle should be the pick.

HERE SOME VIDEOS FROM THE TWO QB’s Argyle’s Austin Aune (TCU Commit) and Wimberly Brady Lambert

TOES PICK:
ARGYLE: 24
WIMBERLY: 28

Class 2A: Division I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Melissa vs. Hempstead, 8pm Thursday Cowboys Stadium. TV: Fox Sports Southwest

Photobucket
MELISSA QB Wes Mcqueen, RB Kristov George HEMPSTEAD WR-S Trent Momon (Texas A&M Commit) RB Michael Wolfe (jr)

Hempstead came out of no where if you ask me to make it to this title game. They are undefeated and after beating my state champ pick Tatum. So you would think I would go with them in this game. They have Texas A&M commit Trent Momon a big target 6-4 and can run, then the ground game is led by Archie Griffin and you can watch the video of his story below. Melissa I’ve only seen at the 7on7 tournament where they have always been very impressive. They throw around ball around a lot. Hempstead’s secondary gonna be tested in this one. I can see this one going either way
HERE IS A STORY ON THE HEMPSTEAD RUNNING BACK ARCHIE TAYLOR

TOES PICK:
MELISSA:34
HEMPSTEAD: 27

Class 2A: Division II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Cisco vs. Refugio, 12pm, Friday, Cowboys Stadium. TV: Fox Sports Southwest

Photobucket
CISCO RB/LB Hayden Lewis, QB Colton Gayle REFUGIO Coach Jason Herring

Refugio has been an absolute machine so far this year blowing out opponents week after week. The undefeated Refugio Bobcats, who have come under scrutiny for the way they have been “running up” the score on opponents, they have even drawn the attention of ESPN who had an outside the lines story I dont know if the piece aired it was supposed to air but the penn state stuff started so they pushed it back. There is a preview of it in the video below. Refugio Lynx Hawthorne (Baylor Commit) is the headline player. Last week he had over 200 yards and 3 TD’s in last weeks 65-33 victory over Lexington. There are some highlights of that game below

HERE THE FULL ESPN REGUGIO STORY ON COACH JASON HERRING

HERE IS HOW REFUGIO GOT HERE

TOES PICK:
CISCO:28
REFUGIO:58

Class 1A:Division I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Stamford vs. Mason 12pm Thursday, Cowboys Stadium TV: Fox Sports Southwest

Photobucket
STAMFORD RB Jessie Ramos Mason RB/LB Rio Schmidt, RB David More

I picked Canadian to beat Mason in the championship game before the season started. As you can see Canadian didnt make it, Mason did So give me Mason in this one. A lot or ground game in this one and a some stiff defense. I go Mason in a low scoring affair.

PICS FROM MASON’S LAST PLAYOFF GAME

TOES PICK:
MASON:24
STAMFORD:14

Class 1A: Division II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Munday vs. Tenaha 4pm Thursday, Cowboys Stadium TV: Fox Sports Southwest

Tenaha has the star power in this one with its Athlete at QB Reginald Davis (Texas Tech Commit), They were my pre season state pick so Im riding with them! Here are some Reginald Davis Highlights
MUNDAY RB Roderick Taylor, TE L.J. Collier TENAHA WR/RB/QB/DB Reginald Davis (Texas Tech Commit)
HERE ARE SOME REGINALD DAVIS HIGHLIGHTS
